FCA Automobility Vehicle Program

January 4th, 2018 by

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles became one of the first automakers to enter the mobility marketplace with the creation of the FCA Automobility Program. With more than 20 vehicles capable of adaptation, FCA Automobility is committed to providing customization of equipment to make life adaptable and easy.

FCA Automobility recently made three big announcements regarding its brand, starting with the introduction of a new brand ambassador; Cheryl Angelelli, a Paralympic medal winner and Athletes with Disabilities Hall of Fame inductee.

When Cheryl was 14 years old, she broke her neck in a vehicle accident and became a quadriplegic. Determined to not let her wheelchair define her life, she returned to the pool after her accident and became a four-time Paralympic medalist and World Record holder in swimming. FCA Automobility recently asked Cheryl to conduct an extended, 18-month test drive of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Limited.

From her blog:

“I love that the Pacifica has so much hands-free and voice command technology. I can control the climate, tune the radio, operate the GPS and make a phone call all with voice recognition. I also have rain sensing windshield wipers, keyless entry, push button start, and automatic power Stow ’n Go® seats.”

Along with Cheryl Angelelli’s test of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica, FCA Automobility announced a team up with mobility vehicle manufacturer BruanAbility and introduced the All-New Braunability Pacifica!

The Braunability Chrysler Pacifica offers the most spacious interior cabin of any Braunability mobility vehicle. The fold-out and in-floor ramps are the widest and strongest wheelchair ramps in the industry and offer options for rear or side door entry. If you choose side entry, the sliding doors of the Pacifica have been modified to open wider and taller and provide the most doorway space possible for even the biggest wheelchairs.

Finally, Ram Trucks offered fair-goers at the September State Fair of Texas a look at how the Ram trucks brand and FCA Automobility are partnering to provide customizable adaptive up fits to support people with disabilities and limited mobility who may have a need for a full-size pickup truck.

Optional features on the Automobility Ram 1500 include a lightweight wheelchair lift assist system to remove a wheelchair from the truck bed and position it alongside the vehicle. Another optional feature is a rotating and seat-lowering system that enables the driver to slide in and out of the truck with little effort.

An often-overlooked advantage to owning new or leased Chrysler vehicles is the FCA Automobility Program, which provides a $1,000 rebate toward the purchase of adaptive equipment for your vehicle — a huge help. To learn more about the program and rebates, visit the FCA Automobility website.
