2022 Jeep Compass Power & Handling
One engine powers the 2022 Jeep Compass lineup. The 2.4L I4 engine provides drivers with 177 horsepower, 172 lb-ft of torque, and up to 2,000 pounds of towing capacity. The four-cylinder engine is mated to a smooth-shifting 6-speed automatic transmission and a front-wheel drivetrain. However, 4×4 with a 9-speed automatic transmission is available. Available to the Sport and Latitude trim while standard on the mid-range and highest trim levels is Jeep’s Active Drive full-time 4×4 system. This will operate in two-wheel drive while driving conditions allow. Then, when the vehicle encounters inclement road conditions, it will automatically shift into four-wheel drive to provide the best possible traction. Once the car is back on dry roads, the system will automatically shift back to front-wheel drive. The Compass Trailhawk comes exclusively with Active Drive Low 4×4 with a two-speed transfer case for better control in low-speed off-roading conditions.
2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer Power & Handling
The 2022 Chevy Trailblazer is eligible for two engine options. Standard under the hood, you’ll find a 1.2L turbocharged I4 engine offering 137 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque. Meanwhile, a 1.3L turbocharged I4 engine is available to the whole lineup, while standard on the RS trim and offers 155 horsepower and 174 lb-ft of torque. While the standard drivetrain is a continuously variable transmission (CVT) driving the front wheels, the 1.3L engine is eligible for an all-wheel-drive system driven by a 9-speed automatic transmission. Unfortunately, while the all-wheel-drive system provides better traction than front-wheel drive, the Trailblazer isn’t available with the same level of capability that the Compass is eligible for.
2022 Jeep Compass Features & Design
With the 2022 Compass’s complete remodel comes a broader, more aggressive front fascia with now-standard LED headlights and greater engine airflow. The overall appearance of the front end varies by trim level. For example, the Trailhawk adds red tow hooks, hinting at its off-road prowess. Meanwhile, the Limited trim has a more premium look to it. Other standard exterior features include LED taillights, a proximity key with remote start, 17-inch alloy wheels, heated/power-adjustable side mirrors, and more. Upon entering, you’ll find a leather-wrapped steering wheel, push-button start, next-generation Uconnect 5 infotainment software on a standard 8.4-inch touchscreen, and more. Higher trim levels feature dual-zone automatic climate control, leather upholstery, an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, a heated steering wheel, heated front seats, a 7-inch or 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster, a 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen, and more. The 2022 Compass is the most technologically advanced one yet, featuring cordless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, more than 75 standard and available driver assists, and much more.
2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer Features & Design
The aggressive look of the Trailblazer’s front end is provided by a pointed grille, slim headlight housings, a tapered roofline, and sharp lines along the edges. Standard exterior features include 17-inch alloy wheels, active grille shutters, halogen headlights, and power-adjustable side mirrors. Inside, you’ll find a 7-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple/Android integration, six speakers, and cloth upholstery. Higher trim levels compete better with the entry-level Compass trim by adding things like remote start, fog lights, LED headlights and taillights, an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen, leather upholstery, heated front seats, and a proximity key. While the RS trim has no mechanical upgrades, still featuring the 155-horsepower 1.3L I4 engine, it gets a sporty appearance package with bold 18-inch alloy wheels, standard LED exterior lighting, RS badges, and standard all-wheel drive.
