What kind of power does the Renegade deliver?
Two engine options are available for the Jeep Renegade, and there is a significant amount of horsepower and torque to be found on both. Standard on most trims is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder that pumps out 180 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque. Pairing with this engine is a nine-speed automatic transmission, which gives you a smooth ride. Both the Trailhawk and the Limited come with a turbocharged 1.3-liter four-cylinder that gets 177 horsepower and an astounding 210 lb-ft of torque, which also gets the nine-speed automatic. Four-wheel-drive is an available option on all trims and is standard on the Trailhawk and Limited.
Can you talk about the Renegade’s features?
We certainly can! There are four trims available for the Jeep Renegade, and there are an impressive amount of features available on each. Kicking things off is the Sport trim, which brings 16-inch wheels, heated and power-adjustable mirrors, dual-zone automatic climate control, air conditioning, cruise control, and a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There is a Jeepster edition of the Renegade Sport, which adds 19-inch aluminum wheels, a gloss black grille, and black cloth seats. Up next is the Latitude that adds more luxury and tech features such as automatic headlights, 17-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, leather-wrapped steering wheel, tinted rear windows, and upgraded cloth upholstery. This year, Jeep celebrates its 80th anniversary with several exciting features such as an 8.4-inch touchscreen with navigation, black cloth seats, and decorative exterior badging. Higher trims bring more luxury and off-road features such as 18-inch wheels, automatic wipers with de-icers, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, keyless ignition and entry, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a raised suspension, front and rear tow hooks, underbody skid plates, and hill descent control.
What are some of the safety features of the Renegade?
There are many safety systems available with the 2021 Renegade, so you will feel safe and secure no matter where you travel. Standard is a Blind-Spot Monitoring System with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, which will monitor the surrounding both beside and behind the Renegade so you can make safe lane changes. Also available is an Adaptive Cruise Control System that will allow the driver to maintain a pre-set distance between the Renegade and the traffic in front. Finally, there is a standard Forward Collision Warning System with Active Braking that will warn you of an impending collision and can even apply the brakes in certain situations.
