The 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L is powered by a standard 3.6-liter V6 engine, rated at 290 horsepower and 257 lb-ft of torque. There’s also an available 5.7-liter V8, which bumps the output up to 357 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque. Both engines pair with an 8-speed automatic transmission. With the V6, the Grand Cherokee L has a maximum towing capacity of 6,200 pounds, which increases to an impressive 7,200 pounds with the V8! For increased capability, the Overland trim is the dedicated off-road model, featuring the Quadra-Drive II 4X4 system with Quadra-Lift Air Suspension, hill-descent control, tow hooks, and a 2-speed transfer case. However, all models have the signature sportiness of a Jeep, with the choice of rear-wheel or 4-wheel drive available across the board.
