In the 2020 model year, the Cherokee lineup is powered by three engines, all of which are mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. FWD is the standard drivetrain and a 4WD system is available for all trim levels, excluding the Traihlawk as it comes with four-wheel drive as standard. The standard engine is a 180 horsepower 2.4L 4-cylinder that produces 171 pound-feet of torque. The first optional engine is a 271 horsepower 3.2L V6 that creates 239 pound-feet of torque and the second optional engine is a 270 horsepower 2.0L turbo 4-cylinder that delivers 295 pound-feet of torque.

Toyota powers the entire RAV4 lineup with just one engine. This 203 horsepower 2.5L 4-cylinder engine produces 184 lb-ft of torque and comes paired with an automatic 8-speed transmission. All trim levels come with FWD but all-wheel drive is optional and standard for the Adventure and TRD Off-Road trims.

Drivers can pick from five Cherokee trim levels. The entry-level model is the Latitude and it comes loaded with features. They include two USB ports, Bluetooth, 17” wheels, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, a 7” touchscreen, a folding rear seatback with 60/40-split, LED automatic headlights, a rearview camera, and a 6-speaker audio system. The other trims, Latitude Plus, Limited, and Overland, add to the entry-level model with an 8.4” touchscreen, another USB port, dual-zone climate control, a power liftgate, sound-deadening glass, heated front and rear seats, and remote engine start. The Cherokee is also comfortable on the trails with the Trailhawk trim level which is outfitted with exclusive suspension tuning, skid plates, all-terrain tires, a locking rear differential, and more ground clearance.

There are six Toyota RAV4 trim levels to pick from. The base LE trim comes with a single USB port, LED headlights, a 7” touchscreen, Apple and Android smartphone integration, and a 6-speaker sound system. The other trims, like the XLE, XLE Premium and Limited, add dual-zone automatic climate control, a power liftgate, more USB charging ports, an 8” touchscreen, simulated leather upholstery,a sunroof, keyless entry and ignition, and a JBL sound system. The Adventure and TRD Off-Road trims add an off-road-tuned suspension, selectable drive modes, fender flares, and unique black trim.
