What safety options come with the 2018 Compass?
One of the best aspects of owning an SUV is the fact that you have added space for not just cargo, but passengers. This means you have more room for your favorite people to hang out with you on long drives and adventures. This means that safety becomes a higher priority, and Jeep has made sure to outfit the Compass with the latest in safety technology. Some of these features include advanced multistage front airbags, anti-lock 4-wheel disc brakes, a tire pressure monitoring display, electronic stability control, and a ParkView rear backup camera. There is also an optional feature, a ParkSense rear park-assist system.
What features are offered with the Compass?
Not only does the Compass look good, but it offers a number of model options in order to get you into the Compass that best suits you and your style. The first trim you’ll come across is called the Sport. The Compass Sport features a Uconnect system that works with a 5-inch touchscreen display, 16-inch wheels, a 6-speaker sound system, air conditioning, a USB port, and even Bluetooth connectivity. Next up is the Compass Latitude. This trim gives you more features to an already robust feature lineup. These features include upgraded simulated leather and cloth seat upholstery, different optional packages, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, larger wheels, and keyless entry and ignition. The most outfitted trim available is called the Limited. The Limited comes with an 8.5-inch Uconnect touchscreen, 18-inch wheels, heated front seats, automatic dual-zone climate control, leather upholstery, remote start, an upgraded driver information display, upgraded exterior trim, 18-inch wheels, and a power driver seat. These three trims are great and offer you a whole host of options. There is also an off-roading trim, called the Trailhawk, which is perfect for someone who is looking to spend more time off the road, than on it.
What engine powers the Compass?
The Compass couldn’t exist without the powerful engine that makes everything possible. That engine is a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder, which has the capabilities to create 180 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque. While this is the standard engine, there are a few options that can be paired with this engine. First up, you can have front-wheel drive with a six-speed manual transmission. This combination gets you around 23/32 mpg. The next option is four-wheel drive with the manual transmission or front-wheel drive with a six-speed automatic transmission. Those two options will get you 22/31 mpg. Finally, you can get four-wheel drive with a nine-speed automatic transmission to get 22/30 mpg.
