2015 Dodge Challenger Hellcat SRT
After months of hiding, the new 2015 Challenger SRT along with its Hellcat engine are finally available to be admired by all. Already, Dodge President Tim Kuniskis has christened this 707hp powerhouse with the title “the ultimate performance muscle car.” Speed demons will definitely want to add this bad boy to their collection.
Plenty of time was spent in the wind tunnel developing the exterior of the Challenger SRT Hellcat and it shows. According to Chrysler, the re-engineered Challenger maximizes aerodynamic performance for both racing and spirited driving. The front of this vehicle has a new fascia design along with an all-new vertical-split on the grille; it provides an update to the ’71 look. The large power-bulge hood draws in cool air to help keep the engine cooled. The design was visually inspired from the first Viper coupe built in ’96. The Challenger Hellcat also has a larger front splitter to optimize down force which counterbalances lift. The rear valance was also redesigned to make the model look wider, lower, and more stable, while the taller rear spoiler unique to the SRT Hellcat features a SRT logo.
The all-new cockpit of the SRT Hellcat also draws inspiration from its ’71 predecessor. The newly designed instrument panel has a stamped bezel and a 7-inch information display screen in the center of the gauge cluster. Speedometer and tachometer gauges that flash a retro look flank the center screen.
There are plenty of features this monster has to boast about, but overall it is a remarkable product of engineering. Starting at an MSRP of $59,995 and generating a whopping 707hp, this vehicle’s 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V8 engine is the most powerful ever built by Dodge. Be sure to keep an eye out for this star premiering on our lot in October 2014.
